Who is the Red Eyed Ryder?

Hi-ho campers, and welcome to the re-revival of the Red Eyed Ryder high-speed, low drag, in your face, time and space hit the road commentary. Red Eyed Ryder got his start when I was in the U. S. Navy seeing foreign lands and exotic locales and was snail-mailing my friends and relatives.

It got to be a real drag writing the same lines over and over again, so I devised Red Eyed Ryder as a means to send out a form letter sort of thing, to be spread around amongst the masses.
The wonderfully supportive staff of eTravelogue.com have asked Red to mount up his trusty steed, Cubic Zirconium, and explore some of the highways and by-ways and let 'em know what we found on the trail. Please keep in mind there, li'l pards, that Red is only one man, and his opinion (you know what they say about them opinion critters) is only based on his experience at the time. If ol' Red gets flies in his soup, varmints in his bedroll, or spinach in his quiche, he will let y'all know, and what (if any) solution he came up with.

Red currently hangs his hat in Maryland, where the nearest Innerstate is about 60 miles from the ranch. That provides some wonderful opportunities to meander a few lesser-traveled roads and gives ya a chance to just sloooooow down and smell the tequila. Which is where Red will open Chapter One.

Ahem...ahem....(jus' clearing my um.....keyboard) One of the joys of living in Maryland is the reasonable distance to see the Nation's Seat. Washington, D. C. (Motto: Never have so few been led by so many) but also, sports fans, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Richmond, Virginia Beach, and so on. We got music, food, water, culture, beach, water, museums, parks, water, and lots and lots of water. There's the Chesapeake Bay, Atlantic Ocean, and rivers, creeks, streams and lakes by the grunch.

I'm-a-gonna go out and wrassle me up a mess of Chesapeake Bay Crabs and a beer. There's two kind of crab shacks here, high and low tone. Low tone just puts newpaper on the table for you to eat on and the high class places put brown paper overtop the newpaper so you can keep track of your bar tab.

I'll be back in a week or so, after roamin' around the range. Be good, eat all yer veggies, and drive like MY life depended on it.
